Like I said, some people seem to never forgive, never forget, never compromise, never move on. You are telling me and trying to turn people on about events that occured 60-100 years ago, at a very different time, and we (the world) have moved foward in many ways since, and all sides recognize their mistakes. (I'm not saying the world today is a happy ending, but inter-civilizational relations have greatly improved) Also, it's not what people did in the past for reasons which now they recognize were wrong which matters the most. After a few decades, antagonism between many countries have risen and fallen US-Japan, England-France, France-Germany, Russia-others, England-USA, etc ,etc. People have lost their loved ones, homes, land, and yet... they move on, they accept to build a new future in peace. In many muslim countries, they still teach Israel once belonged to Islam, they teach southern Spain (which was an Arab colony 1000 years ago) should be brought back into the hands of the muslims. They teach to hate the west because of this or that, and as for Hindus, the Quran states that you should not (in theory) tolerate non abrahamic religions (like Hinduism).
When you have people who proclaim this, and act accordingly, do you think it's wise to allow them a nuclear arsenal??
I don't look blindly, I do my best to understand you, and I do somehow, but if you take everything into balance, you do not realize the possible consequences (or you have bad intentions), and it's always easy to find scape goats for all of your problems (which you do, at least a lot of them). No one is perfect... and recognizing that is a first step. The 7 or so countries who have nuclear weapons today have many flaws, but none of them will likely use them. (Who is worried that England or France has the bomb? no one. Who feels uncomfortable with Pakistan? a lot of people. Maybe they are wrong, but it's not because they hate you or politican manoeuvres. It's because danger does lure and because the potential "risk" is high (sorry to say that)). India, as well as the others, has a clean and clear nuclear policy up to now. These 6/7 or so countries see this weapon mainly as a deterent, and believe many other countries could "safely" save such weapons (even modern Japan, Germany...), but it requires a lot of maturity, and I would still be against any more proliferation by principle because it makes it harder and harder to stop... and all countries will eventually claim a right to it, and I wouldn't see where to set the limit.

Your claim that Iran has done nothing terribly wrong militarywise "yet" is not a valid argument. By the way, why would Iran need nukes?
(The answer: "why does the US or India?" is not an answer to the question!)

Im still waiting for an answer from my question on a previous post :)
If I was wrong, here's your chance to enlighten me!

(PS: I'm sorry if I sound provocative, but it's the best way to get people to speak out :) )

Rajiv,
I agree with you that Nuclear proliferation is dangerous. Of course. As long as Israel and US and west also wouldnt have Nuclear proliferation. When you see that Iran attack to a country?! But how many times in just 100 years ago you see that western countries come and attack to other countries?! You forgot how US, completely deleted 2 big cities in japan by nuclear bumbs? The very close dates are Afqaniatan and Iraq too. Now Which one is more dangerous for universal peace? West or East?!
Sorry, i think you just look at the story from one side. Your name seems to be Indian. I wonder how you forgot the western colonial policity in India and how they treated Indians with hatred when in some places they used to say:" Dog and Indian should not come in" !!
It is very clear fact that shows the hypocrite west governments are more stereotype and arrogant that any other governments and have more hetred toward other nations. They never bring good news for us to the middle east..

You know what is meaning of War? How you say easily they are regretful to fight at Iraq? What a hell regretful, when everyday too many people are killed into Iraq, too many iraqi children die bcs of lack of health and food, too many iraqi women go through prostitution bcs of poverty?
How you easily say they are regretful, when they destroyed a nation completely?! What a hell are those goverments that easily decide to make war and after that get regretful? Are they mentally normal?
I wonder how you analyse events! I dont defend ahmadinejad, I just want you and kind of you stop looking blindly at events around you..

Americans, Indians, and everybody make mistakes. as Pr3rna pointed it out, indians felt ashamed of what happened in Gujarat, and a lot of people were against the war in Iraq in America. About everyone will admit some of the points you mentionned above are true and ironically backfired at the US. Most people now know it was a bad idea to go into Iraq, and I belive they are still there because it would be cowardice to leave whenever things start getting out of control. Now, pulling out is not so easy if you care about the risks of leaving such a vacuum over such a troubled area. Believe me, the americans don't wanna be there anymore.
If you want a personal opinion of Ahmadinejad: I think he is a very smart and skillful man, he is not as bad a politician as others and is probably more honest with himself than most are. He even looks nice, and would be interesting to talk to personaly on many subjects. However, his stance on many issues cannot be accepted and his charismatic side makes him more dangerous than you think. (he looks cool on the photo here though) but you can't support a man because of a few talents and a common religious/ethnic identity alone. Persia/Iran is probably less a threat to the world as some claim, but sometimes you just don't want to take any risks, especially in a theocratic country with a "dangerous" leadership. Nuclear proliferation is more dangerous than you think.
As Pr3rna said, (as I also believe) peace and friendship is possible. But it requires efforts an compromise from both sides. Let's pray it keeps going the right way :p

Ammar, Lubz is right you don't need to apologise for your views. We Indians are ashamed of what happened in Gujarat and the Babri Masjid episode. The problem although is that we think that Indians alone can help prevent the reoccurence of these black spots on our image. when people from outside especially Pakistan interfere it creates more difficult stuations for our Muslim brothers here in India because vested interests use that to thier advantage.
Extremism is bad for everybody and so I dn't think any sensible person can talk in favour of terrorism.
With the change in the relations the Hindi films are changing too. Main Hoon Na was one such example. I have seen plays demonising Hindus on PTV and films demonising Pakistanis in India but now things are improving and we know that we are as human as you guys are. I cherish this friendship and inshallah we would be close friends one day. Who imagined Germany and USA will be friends one day.

@Ammar

I don'tthink you should apologize for your views, since many point of views at least to me ( and i'm sure that i'm not the only one) are valid! and please don't EVER quit writing what you feel like saying regarding current affairs or your views on them, or it won't be much fun to read your posts :)

You' write superbly! it does'nt matter that everyone has to agree with you :)

@Sharzad
Thank you for making me realixe where i was wrong :) i guess i shouldn't place all views with just one conversation with that professor. Yes Iranians are beautiful people and may God always keep them united and strong.
Plus I never said that i hate iranian president, i too like other pakistanis think that it is very brave of him to give USA his peace of mind!

If anyone felt offended by this post or my point of view than I am sorry. The purpose was to post my view point on the blog and not to mud slug like politicians. I would like to thank everyone especially Rajiv, Pr3rna and Lubs who felt that the post was not only crap but mere propaganda. I accept your criticism.
